Watchful Network, Inc. was
formed in October 1994 through the determination of a group of
professionals, to build an alliance among African American business
owners and the community through networking. It
is estimated that African Americans now earn an excess of 600 billion dollars annually, yet we only spend
six percent of our
income with African American business owners; ninety four
percent is spent elsewhere. In
order for African Americans to compete economically in the 21st
century, we must invest in and build our community. Other
ethnic groups turn their money over a multitude of times.
The problem with African Americans is not racism as much as a
lack of economic organization. Cultural unity and economic
development through faith will be the only force that will free
us. In today's
ever-changing economic times, we must take a more business
minded approach towards investing in and building our community
by realizing the power of our economic wealth. We
can begin by perpetually supporting one another more in business
through networking. Our goal is to promote African
American businesses in the community as a viable resource center
in an ever changing marketplace. The
Watchful Network, Inc. sponsor's activities throughout the year
to promote networking between African American businesses and
the African American community.
